WESTPORT — Registered voters in District 8 of the Representative Town Meeting are invited to apply for an open seat on the legislative body.

The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of Lisa Newman. The appointee’s term will expire Nov. 21.

Applicants must be registered voters residing in District 8, but political affiliation is not an issue since the legislative body is non-partisan.

Interested voters should submit a resume by 4 p.m. Feb. 22 to Town Clerk Jeffrey Dunkerton, by emailing JDunkerton@westportct.gov.

The seat will be filled from among the applicants by a vote of the three remaining RTM members in District 8.
