WESTPORT — There’s a new code in town.

Actually, there are three new codes in town — and across the state — governing fire safety, fire prevention and building regulations.

And Westport fire and building officials have issued a statement reminding architects, contractors and other professionals in the design and building fields that the new codes take effect Oct. 1.

A link to new revisions of the codes can be found by clicking here. Westport officials plan to offer training seminars to help guide compliance with the new standards in the near future. Also, visit District 8 Building Officials for monthly meetings and seminars.
