WESTPORT — Staples girls soccer team, the No. 2 seed in the FCIAC Tournament, shut out No. 7 Greenwich 3-0 in the quarterfinals Tuesday.

With the win the Wreckers will take on No. 3 New Canaan in the Friday semifinals at Brien McMahon of Norwalk starting at 7 p.m.

The winner will face either No. 1 St. Joseph of Trumbull or No. 4 Fairfield Ludlowe in Monday’s title game, also at McMahon, at 6 p.m. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest updates.)

In the win over the visiting Cardinals, Annabel Edwards, Taylor Lunney and Addie Talbot all scored. Lunney, Maddy Johnson and Edwards had assists.

Staples and Greenwich closed out the regular season with a 2-2 tie, but the Wreckers left no doubts in the rematch and picked up their 10th shutout of the season — the first was a 1-0 decision over New Canann on opening night.
