The Staples High boys basketball team made playing two games in as many nights look easy.
The Wreckers defeated host Wright Tech 70-31 in a rescheduled game Thursday, (postponed a day because of weather), then crushed FCIAC foe and visiting Fairfield Ludlowe 60-34 the next night.
Staples improved to 10-2 overall.
In the Wright Tech game, 11 Wreckers registered points. Chris Zajac led scorers with 14, including a 4-for-4 performance of the foul line, and Sam Clachko dropped in 13, including 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Cody Sale scored 10, Caleb Smith seven and Kareem Abouzeid and Ryland Noorly both had six.
In the victory over Ludlowe, Clachko drained four 3-pointers and accounted for 14 points and Sale also had 14, hitting a pair of shots from downtown. Zajac scored 13.
The Wreckers next visit Wilton at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. They stay on the road to take on Brien McMahon of Norwalk at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and then travel to Trumbull at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 7.
The next home game is scheduled Friday, Feb. 10, when Bridgeport Central comes to town for a 7 o’clock tip.
