Point blank: Staples girls soccer notches another shutout win

BRIDGEPORT — The Staples girls soccer team registered its sixth shutout, improving its season record to 8-0 with, fittingly, an 8-0 win over host Bridgeport Central on Tuesday.

Alex Duque scored twice, while Bella Baltierra, Kaela Cohen, Katherine Fontana, Sami Selig, Alexis Krenzner and Gaby Fishel also found the back of the net.

Krenzner and Duque both had two assists and Selig, Chloe Barnes, Julianna Martiere and Baltierra all recorded assists.

Next, Staples is slated to visit Fairfield Warde at 6 p.m. Thursday. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest updates.)
