WESTPORT — The Staples High field hockey team improved to 9-0 in FCIAC play and 10-1 overall with a pair of victories over Norwalk teams in back-to-back games over the last week.

First, the Wreckers dominated Brien McMahon 10-0 in the Senior Day tilt last Friday.

Seniors Emma Larit, Tyla Ozgen, Sofia Fidalgo, Storey Ahl and Alex Hackett all scored against the Norwalkers. Additionally, Leah Larit notched two goals and Daisy Hackett, Lucy Hill and Mary Stevens also scored.

Sofia Fidalgo moves the ball for Staples during action this fall. Fidalgo was among the Wreckers who scored during the Senior Day victory last week.

Fidalgo had three assists and Emma Larit recorded an assist.

And on Tuesday, the Wreckers blanked host Norwalk High, 4-0. 

Stevens scored twice and Emma Larit and Alex Hackett also found the back of the net. Leah Larit and Oakley Wilson had assists. The Wreckers did not allow a shot on goal.

Staples visits Wilton at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and returns home the next day to entertain Darien at 4 p.m. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest updates.)
