WESTPORT–The Building Department on Monday issued a permit to demolish the house at 34 Owenoke Park; the demolition has begun.

This property was the subject of a February 2023 article in Westport Journal. The owner’s plan to combine and demolish the houses on two properties–with a combined value of more than $6 million–has been approved by several town bodies.

The two-story modern design house at 34 Owenoke Park was built in 2016. It has 4,600-square-feet of living space, five bedrooms, four baths, a half-bath, a flo-thru garage and crawl space, an open porch, a finished upper story and an in-ground pool.

The property traded hands in 2016 for $4,400,000. The property’s current assessment is $2,808,750.

Owenoke Park is off of Compo Road South. It is a subdivision created in the middle part of the last century, on a peninsula across Gray’s Creek from Longshore Park and adjacent to the Compo Beach neighborhood and the Ned Dimes Marina.
