WESTPORT — A Fairfield woman has been charged with repeatedly sending threatening messages to a local family.
Denisha Derosier, 30, was charged Feb. 13 with second-degree threatening in connection with a complaint filed Nov. 23, 2020, police said.
Police began an investigation after a local woman complained about receiving text messages “that were threatening in nature,” according to the report, stemming from “a long-standing feud between her family and the family of Denisha Derosier.”
An officer spoke with Derosier, who confirmed there was a feud, but she denied sending any threatening messages, police said.
On the night the complaint was filed, Derosier refused to respond to an officer’s request that she come to Police Department headquarters to be issued a misdemeanor summons, according to the report.
A warrant for her arrest was issued, and on Feb. 13 she was taken into custody by Westport police in Meriden, where she was being held by police per the arrest warrant.
Derosier was transported to Westport Police Department headquarters where she was formally charged, and later released after posting a $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 21 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
