WESTPORT — A Stamford man violated a restraining order by trying to contact a local woman more than 100 times over several months earlier this year, police said.

Guilhereme Pessoa, 31, was charged Nov. 9 with criminal violation of a restraining order, and his bond was set at $40,000.

A woman complained to police in October that Pessoa had violated an active restraining order that barred him from contacting her.

The investigation into the complaint determined that Pessoa tried to contact the woman 102 times from last March to July, according to the report.

A warrant for Pessoa’s arrest was issued and served at state Superior Court in Stamford, where he was subsequently arraigned on the charge.
