WESTPORT — A Stamford man has been charged with vandalizing a local bank office, one in a series of similar crimes committed against the bank’s offices in the region.
Johnathan Williamson, 34, faces charges of first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny in connection with the local incident.
Last July 25, police were called to the Bank of America office, 126 Post Road East, where part of its “exterior irrigation system” was vandalized and stolen.
Officers were told that similar incidents had occurred at other branches of the bank in the area.
Using footage recorded by video surveillance equipment, as well as information from other law-enforcement agencies, Johnathan Williamson was identified as the suspect.
A warrant for Williamson’s arrest was issued, and on Nov. 14 he was taken into custody while he was appearing at Superior Court in Stamford.
