WESTPORT — A Stamford man has been charged with violating a restraining order by contacting a resident via social media.

Leandy Perdomo, 26, faces a charge of criminal violation of a restraining order.

Police received a complaint Wednesday from a resident who reported that Perdomo had contacted her, using a social-media app. That was in violation of a restraining order that had been issued against him, according to the report.

Perdomo, contacted by an officer investigating the resident’s complaint, agreed to come to police headquarters, the report states. He subsequently was placed under arrest there, police said.

He posted $2,500 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on the charge Thursday at Superior Court in Stamford.
