WESTPORT–Three Bridgeport women allegedly shoplifted merchandise from Lululemon on Monday, and used an Uber as their getaway car, Westport police said.

Police said Jaylin Terry, 26; Tamia Jones, 21; and Teniya Jones, 25, were first seen at a nearby Gap Store, 125 Main St., loading a bag with merchandise. When a Gap employee reportedly recognized Terry from a previous shoplifting at another Gap, employees monitored the women, who dropped the bag of merchandise and left the store, police said.

While police were investigating that incident, an eyewitness reported seeing three women running out of Lululemon at 69 Main St. “each carrying multiple items and ultimately leaving the area in a waiting vehicle,” police said in an announcement.

Lululemon staff confirmed that the store had just been shoplifted and police took down a description of the vehicle, which an officer then spotted heading east on Post Road East, police said. Police stopped the vehicle at the Sherwood Island Connector.

The vehicle turned out to be an Uber, whose driver appeared to be unaware of taking part in a getaway, and that the $2,838 worth of Lululemon clothes in the car had been stolen, police said.

Police arrested the three women, who they believe were the ones involved in both incidents. The Uber driver was not arrested.

All three women were charged with fourth-degree larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. They were released on bond – $7,500 each for Terry and Teniya Jones, $3,000 for Tamia Jones – and are due in Superior Court in Stamford on June 12, police said.
