WESTPORT — A Hartford man has been charged with shoplifting more than $6,000 in cosmetics and beauty products from Ulta Beauty, 1365 Post Road East.
Andres Bartlett, 27, faces charges of third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny in connection with the theft last year, police said.
The incident took place last Aug. 13 when Ulta employees told police three people placed a large amount of beauty and health products in a hand basket, left without paying and fled the scene by car.
Local police investigating the crime were able to identify the suspects using video surveillance from the store and shared information with other law-enforcement agencies, according to the report.
One of the trio, identified as Bartlett, was taken into custody Tuesday by Westport police detectives. He was held on $50,000 bond and arraigned on the charges later that day at Stamford Superior Court.
