Praises for Action
Dear Citizens of Westport:
Change is survival for Westport.
Jonathan Steinberg and Candice Savin will make the important changes necessary for Westport to survive as a first-class community.
Republican governance has left Westport citizens feeling talked at — not included. Presented with excuses not solutions. Plans sit on the shelf while more taxpayer dollars are spent on more plans not action.
Climate change, flooding, affordability, economic development, gridlock -– we face them today.
Steinberg & Savin will ACT to address Westport’s challenges. Vote Steinberg & Savin.
Sincerely,
Marla Cowden
Steinberg Pick on Solving Traffic Issues
To The Editor:
Who can help alleviate Westport’s traffic problems?
The answer is quite clear. Jonathan Steinberg can and will when he is elected on November 2nd.
Jonathan has advocated for our town directly to the DOT commissioner, but the person responsible for initiating the request to DOT is the First Selectman. Unfortunately, we have not had a strong advocate for Westport in the First or Second Selectman’s office for the past 8 years.
With Jonathan and Candice in Town Hall and our state senator, Will Haskell, chairing the Transportation committee, Democratic leadership will tackle our traffic problems. Jonathan’s opponent at the Chamber of Commerce debate stated there is nothing to be done about the traffic on state roads, which is completely untrue, and she also stated she will form a “traffic advisory” committee to study the problems.
I don’ t think it takes a committee and studies to see and understand the problems of traffic in our town. We need a first selectman that does the job of selectman, and advocates for Westport, versus shirking the responsibility of fixing our problems. The Chamber of Commerce debate clearly showed that Jonathan is the leader with fresh ideas, the wherewithal to get things done, and most importantly the one candidate who will always advocate for Westport.

Praise for Experience
Dear Editor:
I am writing in support of Jonathan Steinberg and Candice Savin for the Westport Board of Selectmen. I met Jonathan years ago when he was spearheading the Westport Cinema Initiative, which has since become the truly terrific Remarkable Theater. And for the past eight years, I have had the privilege to serve with Candi as co-chair of the Westport Library’s main fundraising event, Booked for the Evening. I have seen up close her intelligence, attention to
detail, creativity and deep concern for our community.
Both Jonathan and Candi have repeatedly shown the ability to lead and produce results. As co-chair of the legislature’s Public Health Committee, Jonathan worked closely with the CT Department of Health and Governor’s Office to help Westport navigate the challenges of the pandemic. At the same time, as our Board of Education chair, Candi guided our students, parents and faculty through an incredibly tough period while remaining committed to re-opening Coleytown Middle School.
The Steinberg Savin ticket wants to find real solutions to our traffic problems, continue to work with the business community to make our downtown vibrant (while taking full advantage of the Saugatuck River!), and pledges to keep our school buildings safe. They have real hands-on experience working for and with Westport’s children, families and seniors and they know how to manage budgets and save for a rainy day.
Jonathan and Candi are committed public servants and truly care about Westport. Please join me in voting for them on November 2nd.

Hard Work & Consensus Building
To The Editor:
I am writing in support of the candidacy of Jonathan Steinberg and Candice Savin for Westport First Selectmen.
For the past fifteen years, I have personally witnessed how selflessly and tirelessly both Jonathan and Candi have worked to promote a healthy, safe, and vibrant Westport. They’ve worked successfully on issues ranging from education to the environment, from consideration of the needs of our seniors, to taking care of our many public services and resources. They have served for years as public servants and always put the needs of their constituents first.
Jonathan and Candi are hard-working and clear-headed. They are consensus builders and enthusiastic stewards of all that we value about our town. They have my vote on Election Day and I hope they have yours.

Candidates Praised for Values
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you in support of Jonathan Steinberg and Candice Savin’s candidacy for the Westport Board of Selectmen.
Jonathan and Candice know that Westport Public Schools offers our children a top-notch education from their own personal experiences and from their years of public service. As a former elementary educator and as a current parent of students at all 3 levels in Westport Public Schools, I trust Jonathan and Candice to not only continue the high standards that our schools are known for, but to also push us forward to truly uphold the values that our community stands for: diversity, inclusiveness and a sense of belonging for all.
They have the experience and are the visionary leaders that our children and town needs.
Warmly,
Patra Kanchanagom
