To the editor:
I’m writing in support of, and to urge my District 1 neighbors to re-elect, Matthew Mandell to the RTM D1.
Matt has a proven nearly two-decade record of service to our important s.w. corner of Westport, and in particular, to Saugatuck, our “Other Downtown.”
Matt has always been effective whenever called upon to help with an issue, whether critical or mundane. His townwide work has always kept its residents’ needs and wishes first and foremost.
Whether it’s making sure the town’s funds are well-spent, or in his role as RTM P&Z Committee chair not hesitating to call out the P&Z when warranted, or his memberships in the Environment, I.T., Public Works and Rules committees, Matt is omnipresent. And vocal.
Critically, Matt is the only RTM D1 representative running who voted to preserve our right to effectively petition … the RTM.
Somehow in his spare time, Matt organizes our annual Slice of Saugatuck event and the Dog Festival.
We are fortunate to be one of very few towns in Connecticut to have an RTM as our, pleasantly non-partisan, form of legislature.
I urge you to keep it effective by voting for Matt, and if you wish, only for Matt, for another RTM D1 term.
Ken Stamm

Yes. My mom and sister will be voting for their D1 neighbor Matt Mandell. For the reasons Ken mentions.
