Marion Suzanne (Suzy) K. Fiore, 86, of Westport, passed away peacefully at home Jan. 13, 2025. Suzy was born in Chicago, Ill., in 1938 and lived in Westport since 1951.
Suzy has been a longstanding member of the Westport community and will be remembered for her quiet voice, her big ideas and being a treasured friend who always found time to listen.
Suzy has been a long-term member of Green’s Farms Congregational Church and the Westport Woman’s Club. Since 1978, she has been a very active member of the PEO, Chapter B in Westport, serving as chapter president and holding several other officer positions.
In 1972, Suzy began teaching at the Green’s Farms Preschool, became the director in 2001 and retired in 2009. She cared deeply for the children, their families and teachers she taught and worked with over the years.
Suzy will always be remembered for her greatest enjoyments, which were her love of travel, caring for her plants, being the family historian, and watching birds, especially cardinals. Suzy took special joy in traveling with her family and friends since she was young up to only a few months ago.
For those who knew Suzy, knew her love for cruising, where she enjoyed sipping wine, finding the next adventure and playing slots in the casino. She also had a green thumb, as to step into her house or on the patio in any season, was to step over and around an amazing array of greenery and blooms.
Suzy will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her and her greatest passions will be carried on by her family.
Suzy was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony Fiore, Jr., daughter Cynthia Ann Watson, stepson Michael Fiore and brother Charles Kline, Jr.
She is survived by her three sons, John Earle Watson, III (Deborah) of Summerville, S.C., Charles Robert Watson of Westport and William Craig Watson (Shery) of Redding; stepson Paul Fiore of Fruita, Colo.; nephew Charles Kline III (Christy), and sister-in-law Phoebe Kline of McLean, Va. Suzy is also the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Lynsay Leigh D’Aiuto, Jennie Lynn Moon (Josh), Rebecca Barbara Watson, John Earle Watson, IV (Molly), Charles John Watson, Sadie Malaine Watson and Chase Alexander Watson, and five great-grandchildren, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m., at Green’s Farms Congregational Church, 71 Hillandale Road. A reception will be immediately following at the church. The interment will be private for immediate family.
