Following is the obituary for JOHN P. LUSCOMBE, submitted for the family by the Harding Funeral Home.

John P. Luscombe, 86, of Redding and former longtime resident of Westport, the husband of Josephine Fuchs Luscombe, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Danbury Hospital.
John was born May 29, 1935, on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. He was the son of Harold and Marjorie (Pool) Luscombe.
John was an electrical engineer by trade and was proud to work on many government contracts, one of which was part of the Apollo project, which resulted in the first moon landings.
John was a devoted sailor and boatsman. For many years, he was part of a local group called “The Ancient Mariners.” He was the treasurer and later commander of the Saugatuck River Power Squadron, having passed all the power squadron courses, achieving the grade of senior navigator. He also served as treasurer of the Minuteman Yacht Club.
An avid tennis player, for a number of years he ran the summer tennis program for Y’s Men, playing both indoor and outdoor tennis.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Fuchs Luscombe, a former state representative for Connecticut; Debbie Harding MacInnes, niece; John Harding, nephew; Travis MacInnes, grandnephew; Chistine Harding, grandniece; Sean Harding, grandnephew, and Bill Abrams, brother of his late first wife, Cornelia Abrams Luscombe.
