
Following is the obituary for DONALD L. SNOW, submitted by the family.

Donald L. Snow, formerly a longtime Westport resident, passed away suddenly on Dec. 9, 2023, at the age of 91.
Don was a Navy veteran of six years who served during the Korean War as a radio operator in Japan. Upon honorable discharge, he worked for the railroad as an electrician.
After retiring from the railroad, Don resided in Westport for over 30 years with his wife Alix and managed real estate until his retirement. Later in life, he moved to Boston to be near the Merrill family.
He enjoyed running and all animals, particularly cats. He had an interest in space and space exploration. In his later years he enjoyed bingo and the lottery. He was known by his friends as “Mr. Lucky.”
Don was widely admired as a genuinely nice and thoughtful man with a kind demeanor and a wonderful smile. He will be missed by all.
He was predeceased by his parents, Estella Maude Smith and Augustus E. Snow of Augusta, Maine. Beloved husband of the late Alix Snow. Devoted stepfather to the late Chou Chou Merrill, who he loved dearly, and her surviving husband Michael of Brookline, Mass., and his stepson, Warren Raum, and his wife Dalia of New York City. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Merrill, and his wife Celeste Lohr, Cameron Snow, and his wife, Caitlin, Natalie Raum, and Morgan Raum, and adored great-grandfather to Davis, Teddy and Easton, sons of Cameron and Caitlin.
A private ceremony will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chou Chou Merrill Scholarship fund in c/o Michael Merrill, 100 State Street, Boston, MA 02109.
