WESTPORT — A forum on findings from the public survey conducted for the town’s federally financed “Safe Streets and Roads for All” project will take place Oct. 17.

The program, also including discussion of possible actions to address problems cited by the survey, will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in the the Town Hall auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave.

Findings from the survey, posted online in August, compiled more than 1,850 comments on traffic and safety trouble spots from the public. Results of the “SS4A” survey are being used by the project consultants, Tighe & Bond, to develop an “action plan” that can be used by local officials to design projects — and apply for funding assistance — to enhance traffic safety and flow, as well as to address pedestrian and bicycling concerns.

Overall funding of $562,500 for the action plan was approved in July 2023 by the Representative Town Meeting. A $450,000 SS4A federal grant comprises 80 percent of the total, with the rest funded by the town.
