WESTPORT — Elementary and middle school students looking for extra help with their studies can now book time at the Westport Library.

Student tutors from Staples High School are on hand at the library through April 27 to help youngsters in lower grades.

The drop-in tutoring sessions for students in second through eighth grades start at 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Children’s Library on the second floor of the building at 20 Jesup Road.

The schedule is: 

Mondays, grades 2-8: History and mathematics, from 4 to 6 p.m.; language arts, 6 to 8 p.m.

Tuesdays, grades 2-8: Language arts, from 4 to 5 p.m.; mathematics, 5 to 6 p.m.

Thursdays, grades 2-5: Language arts and mathematics, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Students who come for tutoring should bring homework and texts with which they are seeking assistance.

Check the tutoring schedule — posted here — to make sure there have been no cancellations or changes.

Students younger than 12 years old must be accompanied to by an adult, who is required to remain in the Children’s Library while the student is being tutored.
