WESTPORT — Six “Students of the Month” have been named for December at Staples High School.

They are: seniors William Vanamee and Olivia Berg, junior Madeline Leventhal, sophomore Nathaniel Maurillo and freshmen Kai Massicott and Gabriella Juliano.

Students of the Month awards recognize the high school’s students who help make it “a welcoming place for their peers and teachers alike,” Staples Principal Stafford Thomas said in the announcement.

Nominated by their teachers, the students make positive contributions in class as well as the Staples community, Thomas said, and are considered “all-around good citizens of our school.”
