
WESTPORT — Book lovers, spring into action.
That’s because the Westport Library’s Spring Book Sale opens Friday, offering a bounty of more than 25,000 volumes for readers to choose from.
The event will take place from Friday, April 29, through Monday, May 2, at the library, 20 Jesup Road.
Hours are: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday.
The remaining inventory will be on sale at half-price Sunday, and on Monday shoppers can fill a Westport Library “logo” bag or a bag of equal size for a flat $5 fee, or they can buy individual items for half-price.
General admission on all four days is free.
“Early-bird” shoppers can get an hour-long first look at what’s on sale at 8 a.m. Friday by purchasing a $15 advance admission ticket. Those tickets, available online only, can be reserved by clicking here.
The sale will offer more than.25,000 “gently used” books in more than 40 categories, according to the library’s publicity for the event. There also will be a selection of DVDs and CDs
.Vintage vinyl records and graphic novels will be on sale at the Westport Book Shop, across the street from the library at 23 Jesup Road.
Also on offer will be “noteworthy and antiquarian books,” which can be viewed online here.
