WESTPORT — Skies cleared in the aftermath of a rain-and-wind lashing late Monday afternoon, but scattered power outages lingered locally and the single remaining weather warning that remained in effect — coastal flooding — was in evidence around town.

Just before 6 p.m. Monday, electric service was still disrupted to 59 Westport customers, according to Eversource data, a mere drop in the bucket compared to nearly 50,000 outages around the state.

Westport, where outages peaked at about 240 in the morning, fared better than neighboring communities. By Monday evening, Wilton has 334 customers without power, Weston was reporting 211 and there were 85 in Norwalk.

Other than the coastal flood warning, which the weather service said would be in effect until about 6 p.m. Monday, all other storm warnings regarding high winds and heavy rain have been withdrawn.

Preliminary rainfall data in Westport, reported by a National Weather Service spotter, was 2.08 inches, with a top wind speed clocked at 60 mph in Fairfield just before 5 a.m. Monday.

To the north and west of Westport, higher rainfall totals were reported: 4.43 inches in Danbury, 3.51 inches in Bethel, 3.46 inches in Greenwich and 3.35 inches in Ridgefield.

As clouds continue to give way overnight Monday, the temperature is expected to drop from the balmy daytime high in the mid-50s to near freezing amid breezy conditions.

The outlook for Tuesday through Friday is for mostly sunny skies, with daytime high temperature readings in the 40s, the weather service says.

Power disruptions can be reported online at Eversource.com or by calling 800-286-2000. Customers who signed up for the power company’s two-way texting feature can send a text to report an outage and receive outage updates as they happen.
