WESTPORT — Though it left hurricane status behind it in the south, Tropical Storm Ida dumped significant rain on the region Wednesday into Thursday morning, bringing strong winds as well.

Eversource reported multiple power outages overnight in the northern end of town, north of Long Lots Road, east of Roseville Road.

Downtown the intense rain caused flooding around midnight, with a car becoming stranded on Myrtle Avenue and its driver having to abandon it. The road was closed by the police at the Post Road, which also saw patches of flooding in places, as well as debris strewn about the road from high winds.
