WESTPORT — Though Westport Public School are closed for the holiday, parents and staff are reporting high numbers of COVID-19 cases.

Since Dec. 23, Supt. of Schools Thomas Scarice said 62 new positive cases have been reported to the district, including 37 at Staples High School.

“The rise in cases associated with our schools is reflective of the rise in cases … In Westport alone over 300 cases were reported this week, up from about 120 case last week,” Scarice wrote in an email to staff and families on Tuesday evening.
