WESTPORT — Fuel that morning commuter dash with a splash of free coffee, courtesy of the Westport Transit District and Steam Coffee Tea.

The caffeinated promotion, planned in conjunction with observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, will be offered the mornings of Friday, Jan. 13, and Tuesday, Jan. 17. (There is no bus service on the federal King holiday, Monday, Jan. 16.)

Riders on Wheels2U Westport shuttle buses to the Saugatuck Railroad Station are eligible for a free cup of coffee both days, from 6 to 10:30 a.m., at Steam Coffee Tea, 16 Railroad Place.

To qualify, a Wheels2U passenger must show proof of a completed ride, which can be found in “History” on their Wheels2U app.

The Wheels2U Westport app can be used to book a ride from 5:45 and 10 a.m. and from 4 and 9:30 p.m. to or from the Saugatuck or Greens Farms stations.
