WESTPORT — A memorable coming-of-age drama closes out this season’s movie screenings at the Remarkable Drive-In.

“Stand By Me” — its title derived from the iconic Ben E. King song — will be shown Wednesday.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Remarkable Theater’s goal of opening a nonprofit movie theater in downtown Westport that will employ people with disabilities.

The drive-in screen is located in the parking lot at 50 Imperial Ave.

“Stand By Me,” Wednesday, Aug. 24: In this film, set in the 1950s and based on the Stephen King novella, “The Body,” four friends set out to find the body of a missing boy.

And they do discover the body — along with a few things about themselves.

The cast, directed by Rob Reiner, features River Phoenix, Jerry O’Connell, Will Wheaton and Corey Feldman.

The R-rated movie will be screened at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 o’clock.
