“Jaws” and “Casablanca” will be screened at the Remarkable Drive-In in the coming week.

WESTPORT — Two cinema classics — one fintastically frightening and the other a riveting romance — light up the big screen as the Remarkable Drive-In’s summer season resumes.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Remarkable Theater’s goal of opening a nonprofit movie theater in downtown Westport that will employ people with disabilities.

The drive-in screen is located in the parking lot at 50 Imperial Ave.

Featured films

“Jaws,” Monday, July 4: A summer resort town + busy beaches + a very hungry great white shark = a thrilling Steven Spielberg blockbuster.

The 1975 movie remains a perennial summertime favorite, still causing swimmers to pause at water’s edge. Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw star.

The PG-rated film will be screened at 8:30 p.m., doors open at 7:15.

“Casablanca,” Wednesday, July 6: “As time goes by …” this black-and-white wartime romance remains an evergreen all-time film icon.

Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman are the indelible star-crossed lovers who “will always have Paris,” but, alas, not each other. The fight against the Nazis, instead, takes precedence. Memorable assistance comes from the shifty, but ultimately good guy, Claude Rains, whose order to “Round up the usual suspects!” — conveniently does not include our fleeing hero and heroine.

The 1942 film, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director for Michael Curtis, is rated PG.

The movie will be shown at 8:30 p.m., doors open at 7:30.
