WESTPORT— “Cocktails and Clams,” Earthplace’s annual fundraiser for Harbor Watch, will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at East Norwalk’s Copps Island Oysters, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
This year’s event marks a dual milestone: the 15th anniversary of the fundraiser and the 40th anniversary of Harbor Watch, the organization’s water-quality monitoring program.
The event will feature a harborside site with views of the Long Island Sound, unlimited, freshly-shucked oysters and clams, along with hors d’oeuvres and wine, beer, and a signature cocktail. A live band and a silent auction featuring exciting local items and experiences, complete the event.
“For four decades, Harbor Watch has worked to protect our local waterways,” said Nikki Spiller, Director of Harbor Watch. “This year, as we celebrate 15 years of Cocktails & Clams, our mission is more critical than ever. We are raising vital funds to modernize our decade-old water quality lab, ensuring we remain accurate and responsive to emerging environmental challenges.”
Proceeds from the 2026 event will directly benefit the Harbor Watch Laboratory and its student programs. Specifically, funds will be used to:
- Upgrade Lab Infrastructure: Purchase essential equipment including new field meters, incubators, a drying oven, and enhanced data technology.
- Empower Student Scientists: Provide hands-on training for student interns using modern equipment, preparing the next generation of environmental stewards.
- Protect Local Waters: Support ongoing monitoring that ensures local beaches and waterways remain safe for swimming, fishing, and shell-fishing.
Tickets can be purchased here.
