
SOUTHPORT — A new exhibition at the Pequot Library will provide a look at how written materials played a crucial role in gathering support for the cause of independence during the American Revolution.
Print Revolution, featuring publications from the library’s Special Collections, explores the many examples of stirring literature upholding the ideas of liberty, faith, and self-governance. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, Jan. 24th through May 2nd.
A special event on opening day will feature Michael Hattem, an American Revolution historian and author of two books on the subject. Visitors can meet Hattem starting at 2 p.m. on Jan. 24th and stay for a reception and gallery tour at 3 p.m.
