WESTPORT — “Paving the Way” spring gala, honoring the legacy of women leaders in community service and philanthropy, will be hosted April 5 by the Westport Woman’s Club.

The fundraiser, emceed by actor Scott Foley, will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Patterson Club, 1118 Cross Highway, Fairfield.

The event will feature music performed by the Bernadettes, an R&B/soul band, as well as live and silent auctions.
Proceeds will benefit the range of community and charitable projects supported by the nonprofit club, founded in 1907.
Gala sponsorships and donations, according to the club’s announcement, help support a variety of its causes. For instance:
- $1,000 can provide clothing for children in need.
- $5,000 can provide a need-based scholarship for a graduating senior.
- $10,000 can supply 225 bags of food distributed to families in need via the club’s Food Closet.
Foley, a Westport resident who has acted in television and movies for three decades, is known for roles in TV programs that include “Felicity,” “Scandal,” “Scrubs,” Grey’s Anatomy” and currently, “Will Trent.” Among the movies he has appeared in are “Scream 3,” “Below” and “La Dolce Villa” now on Netflix.
