FAIRFIELD — Two brewing professionals will visit the Fairfield Museum and History Center this weekend to discuss the history of an early 20th century brewery in Bridgeport.
Life and Death of a Bridgeport Brewery will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 15th. The event complements the museum’s Eat, Drink & Start a Revolution! Fairfield’s Taverns exhibition, which runs through May 3rd.
Terry Foster and Jeff Browning Sr. have drawn on the original notebooks of the assistant brewmaster at the Hartmann Brewing Company (later Home Brewing Company), described as “one of Bridgeport’s most famous breweries,” to chart how early 20th century brewers practiced this craft until Prohibition.
Foster has written several books on beer and brewing. Browning is the general manager and brewmaster at Brewport in Bridgeport, and co-authored Life and Death of a Bridgeport Brewery with Foster.
Admission to the event is free. For more information, click here.
