WESTPORT — “The Heart of Westport,” a fundraiser to benefit a campaign to replace automated electronic defibrillators for the town’s emergency services, will take place Oct. 21.

Proceeds from the fundraising gala will help acquire new AEDs for Westport first responders in the Police and Fire departments and the Volunteer Emergency Medical Service. The fundraising goal is $75,000.

AEDS are portable medical devices that can restore the heart beat of people suffering cardiac arrest.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Christ and Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Lane.
