WESTPORT — An update on initiatives carried out by the town’s Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Task Force is planned May 29.

The forum hosted by the task force, including representatives of the public safety and public works departments, will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in Town Hall’s auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave.

In addition to reporting on its latest projects, the task force will gather public feedback on topical concerns.

The task force, launched in March 2022 by First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker, compiled a wide-ranging report on traffic and safety problems based on comments gathered at neighborhood meetings conducted in each of the Representative Town Meeting’s nine districts.

The report, issued in January 2023, prioritized residents’ concerns about issues that included roadway intersections, sidewalks and crosswalks, speeding, traffic volume and enforcement.

Since then, the task force has convened several forums to report on its progress and gather additional feedback.
