FAIRFIELD — Nearly two dozen local authors will visit the Fairfield Public Library this weekend, giving people a chance to meet the authors and mingle with other book lovers.

The Local Author Expo will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19th, at the library’s main location. Twenty-three authors will be in attendance, including 16 authors of adult books, six children’s book authors, and one teen author. Visitors can browse books, ask authors questions, and purchase signed books. Each author will also conduct a reading.

“This is a unique opportunity to support local writers,” says Tamara Lyhne, head of children’s services and co-sponsor of the event with Philip Bahr, head of adult services. “We are hoping for a great turn-out from the community and, looking ahead, would love to see this become an annual event.”
