WESTPORT — An Evergreen Avenue water main break Tuesday morning has disrupted service to about 20 customers.

The break in the 8-inch main was reported about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, on Evergreen Avenue between Myrtle and Washington avenues, according to an alert on the Aquarion water company website.

Emergency repairs are expected to restore service between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, planned “infrastructure improvements” by Aquarion have interrupted service Tuesday to customers in the Judy Point Lane and Burritts Landing area, according to another water company alert.

Work there is expected to be completed between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

In the aftermath of both incidents, the water company advises customers to run cold water until the discolored discharge runs clear.
