WESTPORT–The Westport Police Department has announced that two organized protest assemblies are scheduled in the downtown area today, Saturday, March 28, 2026, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The weekly Saturday rally on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge is expected to take place from  11 a.m. to noon.

The third “No Kings” rally is expected from noon to 2 p.m. on Jesup Green. The last “No Kings” rally attracted a crowd estimated at 3,000 to the area north of the Westport Library. 

Drivers should anticipate heavy traffic and a large number of pedestrians and are advised to seek alternate routes through downtown if feasible. Drivers are encouraged to be patient, cautious and mindful of what is anticipated to be extremely heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
