WESTPORT — While they at least remembered to reach out to the candidates, the League of Women Voters of Westport failed to notify both the public and Town Hall’s media people that its 7 p.m. debate Tuesday night was cancelled.

Ironically, league officials said they based their decision on news reports in the local media about flooded roads and warnings from police to not be out.

There was no word shared about whether or not the debate, which was due to include candidates from the Boards of Education and Planning & Zoning, would be rescheduled.
