Leaders of the CT Mirror, a 12-year-old nonprofit news organization covering state government, politics and public policy issues, will speak Nov. 17 at the Pequot Library in the nearby Southport section of Fairfield.

Reporting by the CT Mirror is regularly posted by the Westport Journal, and also appears in news publications and websites across the state.

Bruce Putterman, CEO and publisher of the CT Mirror, and veteran reporter Mark Pazniokas, the Capitol Bureau chief, will discuss current Connecticut news and the state of journalism during the program set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., Southport.

Pazniokas will review the state’s political landscape, focusing on next year’s gubernatorial contest. Putterman will talk about the growth of nonprofit newsrooms around the country and the CT Mirror’s role in a state where traditional media have been contracting for years.

There also will be a question-and-answer period.
