WESTPORT — Commuting and caffeinating.
That morning jolt of java is free this Thursday or Friday — for commuters using the Wheels2U Westport ride-sharing service to the town’s two railroad depots.
Wheels2U, the door-to-station ridership program offered by the Westport Transit District, is teaming with Steam Coffee Tea on Railroad Place to offer commuters free coffee from 6 to 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 18-19.

For that free cup of coffee, riders need to show proof of a completed Wheels2U ride, which can be found under “History” on the Wheels2U app.
Steam Coffee Tea is located at 16 Railroad Place, across from the Saugatuck Railroad Station. The shop is open from 6 a.m. to noon.
Residents living in the Wheels2U Westport service area can use its ride-sharing app to book a ride between 5:45 and 9:45 a.m. from their homes to either the Saugatuck or Greens Farms railroad stations and from 4 and 8 p.m. to schedule rides from either station back home.

Rides should be requested about 20 minutes before the desired pickup time. The fare is $2 when paid with the Wheels2U app, and a Metro-North Uniticket rail/bus pass also can be used.
