WESTPORT–Members of the Historic District Commission awarded several properties with the 2026 HDC Preservation Award on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium.

The winners this year include

• 4 Old Hill Road (Emil Dennert House); Excellence in Ongoing Care and Maintenance 
• 14 Treadwell Avenue; Restoration 
• 24 Morningside Drive South (Charles B. Sherwood House); Restoration
• 26 Treadwell Avenue (Henry Patchen House); Rehabilitation
• 35 Wright Street (Zalman Sanford House); Helen Muller Preservation Award
• 44 Compo Mill Cove (Gallagher Cottage); Rehabilitation
• 64 Wright Street (Frederick Morehouse House); Restoration
• 70 Turkey Hill Road South (John F. Dingee House); Restoration
• 107 Wilton Road (Hurlbutt-Haslam House); Rehabilitation

The primary objective of the HDC is to preserve and protect the distinctive architectural character of Westport’s Local Historic Properties and Local Historic Districts.

The volunteer commission meets monthly.
