WESTPORT — Though the hot weather had people moving a little slower, visitors still made their way downtown to the Summer Shopping Days sidewalk sale on Main Street.

“We’re calling this our back-to-school edition,” said Jacqui Bidgood, event director for the Westport Downtown Merchants Association.

Dozens of stores had merchandise out at discount prices, while some virtual vendors were also in attendance with booths for shopping.

Several different musical performers were playing, too, while there were also food opportunities.

“We’re kind of happy that the rain has moved out of the forecast,” Bidgood said, noting it was a perfect summer shopping day.
