WESTPORT — The latest outlet of Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill has opened in Westport, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set Saturday at its Playhouse Square location.

The local outlet, the 12th in the Salsa Fresca chain, will mark its official opening with a ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, featuring free food, giveaways and a drawing with the winning prize of free catering for 10 diners. 

The restaurant, in Playhouse Square, 275 Post Road East, offers indoor and outdoor dining.

Salsa Fresca, which advertises its fare as “always-fresh, never-frozen,” features  an open kitchen concept in Westport, where patrons can see their meals prepared, according to an announcement from the restaurant owners.

“As we continue to grow, we plan to maintain our successful, personal culture in the Westport restaurant and every other location,” Eric Friedman, Salsa Fresca’s COO, said in the announcement.

The restaurant offers “signature” Mexican foods, chili or queso bowls, build-your-own options and a selection of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and nut-free selections.
