NEW HAVEN — The Yale Repertory Theatre has announced its 2026-2027 season, including two works debuting on the stage for the first time.

The season will include:

  • August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, directed by Timothy Douglas, running Oct. 2nd to 24th
  • The Soho Rep production of Watch Me Walk, written and performed by Anne Gridley and directed by Eric Ting, running Nov. 14th to Dec. 5th
  • Kate Attwell’s Electra America, directed by Sivan Battat, running Jan. 14th to Feb. 6th
  • Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, adapted by Yura Kordonsky, running March 5th to 27th
  • Guadalís Del Carmen’s Quisqueya on the Hudson, direct by Knud Adams, running April 23rd to May 15th

Electra America and Quisqueya on the Hudson are world premiere productions commissioned by Yale Rep. Electra America is described as a “darkly comic, propulsive, and haunting new play that reimagines the ancient Greek tragedy as an edge-of-your-seat thriller for the 21st century,” while Quisqueya on the Hudson is a “deeply moving portrait of a family at a crossroads” as the De La Cruz family copes with the impending demolition of their apartment building in Manhattan’s San Juan Hill neighborhood.

This will mark the first season overseen by incoming Artistic Director Evan Yionoulis, who begins her tenure on July 1st. James Bundy will serve as artistic director and Florie Seery as managing director.
