WESTPORT — The Westport Writers Workshop plans an April 28 fundraiser to support its outreach programs.

The event, “More Than Words: Celebrating Outreach to Unheard Writers,” is set for 6 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Wakeman Town Farm, 134 Cross Highway.

The fundraiser will include light dinner fare, music by guitarist Henry Rose, a door-prize gift basket and a silent auction of merchandise and experiences, according to organizers.

The group’s outreach programs provide in-person and online workshops for writers of all levels, as well as assistance for those unable to take a traditional class. The workshop’s outreach efforts also offer help for people “undergoing specific challenges, or who have survived some type of hardship, abuse or trauma,” according to a publicity release.

Organizations interested in participating in one of the outreach programs offered by the Westport Writers Workshop should email info@westportwriters.org.
