WESTPORT — Voices from the war in Ukraine, conveyed through text messages, emails and social media, provide the narrative for “Words from the Front,” a March 7 presentation at Westport Community Theatre.

The staged reading, accompanied by video and slides, is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the troupe’s space in Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.

There is no admission fee; donations will be accepted. Contributions raised at earlier performances have raised approximately $10,000, which has been donated to the UNICEF Foundation’s Relief Fund for Ukrainian Children, the production’s announcement says.

Actual correspondence about the Ukraine conflict by Ukrainians, Americans and Russians inspired the play by Nancy A. Herman and Lynda Sorensen.

The writings, “always poignant and powerful, sometimes uplifting, even amusing, form the basis for an evening of contemplation on the state of war and its effect on the human beings who are caught in the crosshairs of international conflict,” according to publicity for the show.
