WESTPORT — Renée Elise Goldsberry, known for her award-winning performance in the musical “Hamilton,” will headline the Westport Country Playhouse 2022 gala, “Back to the Playhouse,” in September.

The fund-raising event is set for Saturday, Sept. 17, at the theater, 25 Powers Court.

A cocktail party will kick off activities at 5:30 p.m., with an auction and honors presentation at 7 o’clock, Goldsberry’s performance at 8 p.m., followed by an after-party. Ticket prices and sponsorships are detailed here.

Goldsberry, a Weston resident, will be featured in a concert of Broadway, pop and soul selections.

The program will be hosted by actor Robin de Jesús, who has been nominated for three Tony Awards and can be seen in the recent Netflix movies, “Tick, Tick….BOOM!” and “The Boys in the Band.” He is a Norwalk resident.

Barbara K. Streicker, a former chairwoman of the Westport Country Playhouse board of trustees, will receive the theater’s Leadership Award during the event.

Goldsberry won Tony, Grammy, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel awards for her role as Angelica Schuyler in “Hamilton.” She currently stars in Tina Fey’s Emmy-nominated streaming series for Peacock, “GIRLS5EVA,” and soon can be seen in Billy Porter’s movie directorial debut, “What If.”
