WESTPORT — To complement its Art, Jazz + the Blues exhibition, MoCA\CT will host a panel discussion this week to celebrate “the interplay of jazz, blues, and visual art.”

“Community Conversation: Jazz Inspirations” will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26th. The event will begin with a live guitar performance by Tim Cole, followed by an exploration of how jazz and the blues have inspired creativity across all art forms, and within the local community.

Panel members include:

  • Brian Torff, a jazz bassist, composer, and Fairfield University music professor
  • Dr. Richard Epstein, vice president of the Jazz Society of Fairfield County and longtime WPKN host
  • Kevin Mazzarella, the Staples High School band director and trumpeter
  • Caitlin von Schmidt, a musician, graphic designer, and daughter of artist Eric von Schmidt, whose works are the foundation of the Art, Jazz + the Blues exhibition

Admission to the event is $10 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors. For more information to register to attend, click here.
