WESTPORT — A first-anniversary celebration of the “Jazz at the Post” concert series is planned April 27 at the Joseph J. Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399.

The JazzFC-organized event, featuring more than 20 performers, is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the VFW Post, 465 Riverside Ave. Proceeds will benefit the weekly “Jazz at the Post” concerts, curated by Greg Wall, the rabbi at Beit Chaverim Synagogue in Westport.

Among the musicians scheduled to perform at the anniversary event are David Morgan, Sarah Cion, Mike Mossman, Tim Horner, Phil Bowler, Rob Henke, Joe Corsello, Dave Childs and Rale Micic, according to a publicity release.

“Help us celebrate and raise funds so we can increase our capacity to serve our neighbors here in Fairfield
County,” event planners said in the release.

Among the JazzFC outreach programs is a series of clinics for Westport students conducted by headlining Jazz at the Post artists.

The group also hopes to expand outreach to after-school programs in Bridgeport and Norwalk, as well as partnering with senior centers and programs for the underserved.
