WESTPORT — Budding musicians will have more time to apply for MoCA\CT’s Heida Hermanns International Music Competition, with the museum extending the deadline for applications.

Open to musicians ages 18 to 30, MoCA\CT says the competition is an opportunity for young pianists to launch their career and step onto an international stage. Due to strong interest, the deadline to apply for the competition is being extended to July 15th.

Finalists in the competition will be announced on Aug. 15th. The final round of the competition, a live performance at MoCA\CT, will take place on Nov. 14th. In addition to a grand prize of $20,000, runner-up prizes of $10,000 and $5,000 will be awarded.
